The breakfast buffet is a real plus, and there are a couple of food streets close enough to walk to. The hotel itself is clean, with nice rooms, and perfectly serviceable. Staff aren't especially friendly, but that's fine. It's near the train station on foot, though you'll need a car to get to places like the CBD. There's a small gym, but no pool, and no other restaurant or bar.

The quiet inside was appreciated, even though the hotel is in a busy part of the city. It's handy for getting to attractions, restaurants, and business areas. The room was modern and looked after, with a comfortable bed, a spotless bathroom, and good water pressure. Wi-Fi was steady and quick for work or entertainment. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and filling, with a reasonable mix of Chinese and Western food, though nothing gourmet. Check-in went smoothly. Staff were courteous and helpful, if not especially warm. I did sometimes struggle to communicate in English with some of them, though they tried their best to help. For a short visit or business trip, I found it good value. I'd consider coming back. The basics were all there, and the overall stay was very pleasant.

From the big square outside Zhengzhou train station, look ahead and a little to the right for the distant green H in the Holiday Inn logo. It's about a 10-minute walk from the station. Check-in was easy, and as an IHG Gold member I got a welcome gift. The lobby coffee machine is free to use any time, and they provide free bottled water. Rooms felt clean and modern, with 5Amp USB ports in the outlets for faster charging. Rates were really cheap, too. Breakfast was decent, with more choice than at Holiday Inn Express hotels in the US.

The rooms are large and comfortable. A good choice when taking the train, since the rail station is only about three minutes away.
