Zhengzhou Airport Hotel

I used this as part of a China Southern transit. The hotel was terrible, and the staff were incompetent, even though they meant well. Breakfast was a joke: just a piece of bread and a small carton of milk. That’s it.

Clean and close to the airport. Not bad!

The beds were comfortable, but the room was noisy and the soundproofing was poor. If you wake easily, keep that in mind. Planes taking off and landing at night can be quite loud, even though the hotel is next to Zhengzhou Airport, the closest airport to the city center. That location is handy if you have an early flight. The hotel occupies two older buildings, with retro rooms and relatively old facilities, so consider that if dated surroundings bother you. I had to stand at the counter for a while before anyone came to help, and only got attention after asking where to check in. That was disappointing. On the plus side, the price is fairly low, and breakfast and the shuttle bus are available as early as 5:20 AM. A reasonable value for travelers who care about the cost.

It was convenient to catch an early flight since the hotel is right next to the airport terminal. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the facilities overall felt outdated. My room smelled of cigarettes, which was very uncomfortable for me as a non-smoker.
