For this city, it’s about as good as it gets. The room was huge, with very comfortable twin double beds, plump pillows, and mattresses. You get free toiletries, a fantastic rain shower, and bottled water each day, though there’s no minibar. The Wi-Fi is fast, and there’s an English channel on 30 and sports on 10 if you don’t speak Mandarin. It’s essentially five-star, with great amenities and its own rear entrance to the nearby commercial shopping centre. My only gripe is the instant coffee sachets. A hotel at this level could do better.

Our room was made up impeccably every day, and the towels were easily the biggest and softest we’ve ever had anywhere in the world. Those small touches really made the stay enjoyable. Thank you!

The rooftop was fabulous, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is right in the town centre with lots of shops around it, and our room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the food at the Chinese restaurant, though it was very stuffy at lunchtime because the air conditioning wasn’t cold enough. My husband was sweating the whole time.

Donnie Zhong was especially helpful when I needed to book a ship ticket from Zhongshan to Hong Kong. He patiently guided me through the whole process, with real enthusiasm and a genuine desire to help. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful.

Good value, and I couldn’t fault the hotel while we were stuck there during the typhoon. The menu was limited that day, but that was understandable.
