For the price, this is a very cost-effective option given its location, and there’s even a self-service drinks counter on the first floor, which is rare in mainland China and perhaps says something about the clientele here. Public transport nearby is convenient, though I can’t say how parking is. I’ve included photos of two room options: one is smaller with a balcony, the other is larger without one. The roadside is being taken over by shared bicycles and electric bicycles, making it awkward for pedestrians to pass. The final photos show the blocked sidewalks near the hotel. Zhongshan City’s government regulation on this seems lax, though I expect they’ll do something about it after a while.

The buffet breakfast is sufficient and satisfying, with bread and milk as well as porridge, pickles, and miso soup for Japanese tastes. There are Japanese and Korean BBQ restaurants nearby, and the lively city center is just a 3-5 minute walk away. I’d stay here again if I return to Zhongshan. It’s a typical Chinese business hotel, and many of the guests are Japanese expatriates. The front desk has Japanese-speaking staff, which is useful even for little things. There are Japanese TV channels in the rooms, perhaps because of the Japanese guests, and the toilets have bidet functions. In fact, there are more Japanese guests than Japanese guests.

The rooms are on the small side, but they’re very clean and comfortable. Since Japanese people often stay here, the toilets are Japanese-style electric heated ones.
