We had such a great stay, and I hope I can come back soon. The food was amazing, with generous portions and not one dish I didn't enjoy. Johana is a wonderful cook. The lodge is now called Primitivo Lodge and sits just steps from a peaceful beach with friendly people around. Paula took us on incredible nature trails, and Julian, the captain, really knows the area inside out. Highly recommend it!

The lodge feels tucked between jungle and sea, with a rustic, unspoiled setting that brings you back to the basics and close to nature. It’s peaceful and great for relaxing, but there’s also plenty of jungle to explore and different animals to discover. From July to October, humpback whales come into the bay to give birth and raise their calves. The owner hosts guests, and the local team treats you with so much warmth and passion, giving you a real sense of the Chocó region. I’d definitely go back.
