Hotel Dorado Plaza Alto Prado

The food has been really good, and the staff are attentive and caring. I came from London and Marcos at reception was a big help, translating for me and teaching me a few Spanish words.

We had to deal with the police visiting in the middle of the night after money went missing from our room several times. Someone even took euros from my wife's purse, and it felt like they were searching through our personal things. Be very careful and keep valuables locked in the safe. I've travelled extensively and never experienced this kind of brutality. The police officers were very friendly. Shame on you, Hotel Dorado staff!

The location is great, and the lobby has a restaurant and bar that feel five star. Beautiful hotel, with first class fine dining.

Breakfast was exceptional, with eggs, broths, bread, egg arepa, coffee, yogurt, chocolate and juice. The staff were kind, and our room was spacious and comfortable, with a large toilet and toiletries. The hotel itself is very nice and looks new. Christmas Eve was the letdown. The food was good, but there wasn't much effort to make it a night for guests to stay and enjoy. People ate and left, and by midnight only one family was still at a table. The waitresses were rushing to clear and clean everything, which made it feel hurried and unwelcoming. I'd stay here again, but wouldn't join a Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve “party.”
