Hotel Sun River

Hector and Nancy host the place, and David takes care of bookings and customer service in both Spanish and English. It's a no-frills hostel, but the rooms are clean, the beds are super comfortable, and breakfast is delicious if you have it. More than just a room, it gives you a chance to meet some of the kindest, most welcoming people I've come across, in Colombia or anywhere. Good value, and highly recommended!

The room was good and the place was extremely clean. The staff were lovely, welcoming, and very helpful. My Spanish is basic, but whenever I couldn't understand something, David could speak fluently with me in English. I enjoyed staying here.

The room was nice, but there was no hot water. It's a hostel in a dirty, run-down area, and they don't take credit cards, which seemed suspicious to me. Most cash-only places don't pay their fair share of taxes.

The owners were very nice and helpful, and even made us coffee at 6am. It's a fairly new, small hotel on a quiet street, with a comfortable room, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. The area feels a little industrial, so there's not much nearby. On Sunday night the food places and supermarket close early. We got caught out at 9pm, but luckily found a corner shop nearby and managed to buy snacks. A taxi from the hotel to the bus terminal takes 30 to 45 minutes.
