Botanico Hostel

The activities are great, especially the morning yoga on the terrace with Carlos. It has a relaxed but sociable feel, and the people running the hostel are super friendly and helpful. Just right for a hostel.

We arrived with a confirmed reservation and were told the hostel was overbooked. We'd called earlier that day and had our booking confirmed, so being left to find somewhere else in the middle of the night was incredibly stressful. We're still waiting for our deposit back. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.

The terrace, garden, bar and seating were lovely spots to relax with a cup of tea, and I was glad they offered morning yoga. So many great sights in Bogotá are an easy walk away. The rooms and beds were really comfortable, and the whole staff was warm and welcoming, especially Leidy, who was wonderful. I absolutely loved my stay and highly recommend it.

I liked the cozy, home-like feel, and they even lit the fireplace in the living room. The common areas were lovely, as was the terrace with a view. Free tea and coffee meant I could enjoy a cup with that view. The staff were nice and I had a very good stay, though the reception and bar music was extremely loud late into the night, even after closing while staff cleaned. When I asked them to turn it down, they did so without any problem. I also didn't feel safe going out after 6 PM in a district people say is very dangerous. I heard you could get robbed getting into or out of a taxi at night, though I did that myself and was fine. I do recommend the place overall.
