Casona del Patio

For the price, this is an excellent choice. Breakfast is included, simple but delicious, especially the changua soup. I had a lovely view of the courtyard from my room, and the courtyards are nicely kept with pretty plants. There are a couple of things to improve: the larger mattress in my room was old and sagging, and runners in the hallways might help quiet the noise of people coming back to their rooms at night. Still, at this price, I give it five stars.

This inexpensive hotel covers the basics. There's a lounge area to relax in, though not much happens there unless you're looking to socialize. The open patio has no pool, and restaurants, cafes, and a grocery store are within walking distance. We stayed in two different rooms on separate visits, and both were okay, though not comparable. Toilets clogged easily, hot showers were hard to come by, and our first room barely had hot water. You can hear staff talking in the early morning from rooms on the main floor, and the Wi-Fi could be better. Breakfast is served, but it wasn't anything special, and on two different days they didn't have one menu item available. The front desk can be accommodating, but communication was difficult because staff spoke little to no English. We got by with gestures, broken Spanish, and Google Translate.

The room was a good size, and breakfast was well done. It's in a good spot near plenty of shops and restaurants. A great hotel option if you're spending time in Bogota.

We arrived at Casona Del Patio Hotel around 11:00 Am on Sunday after making reservations for an early check in. The staff greeted us warmly at the door and checked us in quickly. Angelica, Michael & Alejandro were superb and took care of all our requests. The night before, we'd stayed at the Ambar Hotel in the historic district of La Candelria, where we were robbed outside the hotel door. The staff there were completely inept and spoke no English. Casona Del Patio restored our sense of Bogota hospitality, comfort, and safety. Thanks to the staff, our trip was salvaged and really enjoyable. We'll definitely be back.
