DoubleTree by Hilton Bogota Salitre AR

The view from the upper floors is great, and you can see the city skyline from the emergency stairs. The hotel feels modern and attractive, with a good location for work trips because it's close to corporate offices. Rooms have a small kitchenette and a large bathroom, and breakfast is a complete buffet.

We were treated very cordially from the minute we arrived. The hotel is well equipped, and the rooms stand out for being roomy and comfortable. Everything was spotless, and breakfast had lots of variety and was excellent. Highly recommend.

The rooms are modern and nice, until you try to unwind with the TV. The service is frustratingly unresponsive and there aren't many good choices. They really need smart TVs.

Trying to get help by phone was a ridiculous experience. The automated menu offered English, so I selected it, but everyone who answered spoke Spanish. I asked for English, please, and was left on hold for six minutes. I called back and the exact same thing happened; after another seven minutes, someone finally answered, and by then I just wanted to cancel my reservation. While I was waiting, I could hear people picking up and hanging up before putting me on hold again. I asked for a manager, assuming someone in that role would speak English, but I was told to speak slowly because they couldn't understand. Then I heard someone in the background translating for the manager. I know not everyone in a Spanish-speaking country will speak English, but don't offer an English line if we can barely communicate. Please do better.
