Samuel, the owner, and Luz, who is sort of the housekeeper, made me feel completely at home at Egreen. They were both lovely and kept offering ideas for places to visit and eat, along with help whenever anything came up. I really appreciated their kindness and hospitality, and I'll keep coming back. The house is roomy and beautiful, in the pleasant residential area of Santa Ana in Bogotá. I picked Egreen for its proximity to the Mexican, Canadian, and Costa Rican embassies, then found Hacienda Santa Bárbara shopping center and Usaquén Park were just a 5-minute walk away. It's a lovely, traditional part of town for a stroll, local crafts, and good food. There are only a few rooms, so it feels cozy and homey. My mattress was incredibly comfortable, the pillows soft, and the comforter warm for chilly Bogotá weather. I shared a bathroom but hardly noticed, since there are few rooms and it was always available and spotless. They keep hand and body soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, and towels stocked, and there's even a scale if you want to weigh yourself! hahaha Breakfast costs extra and is optional, but Doña Luz's cooking is delicious, so I thought it was worth it. I especially liked the herbal teas made with herbs from the backyard.
