Had a really good time here. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cool, with live music and DJs on the rooftop and people dancing and having fun. I appreciated that things quieted down after 11pm. Thanks for a great time.
The terrace is pleasant, and there's a bright atrium with outdoor tables by the kitchen. They also organize social activities through a WhatsApp group. My room's internet was good for working, which was a big plus. I stayed five days, and it was okay overall. It's an old, large house converted into a hostel, with five-meter ceilings and a somewhat maze-like layout. The location is very good, in Candelaria and near Carrera 7. But the place has an unusual feel. The kitchen is small with little room to leave things, and a floor with many rooms and dorms has just one bathroom. It wasn't especially clean, and my room smelled a little damp. Check that your room matches the booking photos. I had reserved a single room with a small desk for work, but there wasn't one, so I asked to move to a room with a desk.
My room was comfortable, and the hostel is pretty. The bar staff and chefs were lovely and fun to talk to. But the water was ICE COLD, with no hot or even warm option, so skip it if that's a deal breaker. The high ceilings make the hallways echo, and you can hear people outside the rooms shouting. This isn't the hostel's fault, but most of the guests seemed to be men who didn't know how to use the toilet. There was often pee left in the bowl and the seat felt sticky. Sorry for the mediocre review!
The location is great and feels safe, though weekends can be a bit loud at night. Beds are pretty comfortable and have good blankets. Breakfast was awesome, with vegan and veggie options, plus great coffee, tea, and a nice view. There isn't an elevator, so keep in mind you'll be carrying your things up and down lots of stairs.
Luider’s wellness sessions were a real bonus for me. He runs a good mix of classes that are easy to join, and you can also book one-to-one spiritual sessions like tarot readings or energy cleansing. He clearly cares about this work and knows his field. The rooftop has lovely city views, with salsa classes and DJ nights, and the food is tasty and affordable. R10 hostel is also set up well for working, with reliable internet and an entrepreneurial feel in the common area. There’s a TV lounge for relaxing too. Even though it’s right in the city centre, I found it easy to unwind here. The reception team and volunteers remember your name, so the place feels like a cozy co-housing home. The women-only dorms are comfortable, with some of the best beds and sheets I came across on my travels, plus a space under the bed where you can lock your belongings away safely. No doubt, this is my favourite place in Bogota. It really does feel like coming home.
