101 Park House

I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels in Colombia, and this place has pictures of things that aren’t actually there, so the advertising feels false. The breakfast was very mediocre. The rooms are very large, which is the one thing I’d give five stars for, but they’re old and rundown.

The gym access was the standout for me. There’s no gym on-site, but the hotel partners with a luxury gym two blocks away, and it was the best hotel gym I’ve used. It has three floors, with cycling, cardio, weights, and fitness classes. If working out matters to you, that alone makes the gym worth a visit. The staff were friendly and made an effort to speak some English, which I appreciated. My room was huge, with a fireplace, a comfortable bed, and a full kitchen with a big fridge, microwave, plates, and utensils. The living room, though, felt bare in all that space, just a couch, recliner, and table. It reminded me of something I might’ve put together in college on a tight budget. It worked, but wasn’t cozy or well designed. There were a couple of things left by the previous guest, a coin and a hairpin, but it didn’t bother me much. The bathroom had both a tub and shower, which was a nice surprise. I didn’t try the pool, but heard it had jets and looked nice. I accidentally left my passport in the room, and the hotel contacted me on WhatsApp and helped me get it back. I really appreciated that. The stay didn’t feel luxurious, but it had everything I needed and more, so I’m still giving it five stars.

The restaurant staff were amazing, and their service was outstanding. The rest of the experience was disappointing. Our online booking included a breakfast buffet and promised VIP access with a complimentary drink, but we didn’t get either. We booked so the kids could use the pool listed in the reservation, only to be told there was no such pool, just a small spa pool that cost extra per person. They later offered us complimentary access, which we appreciated, but it wasn’t a normal-sized pool. Since our flight arrived early, we asked to check in early. Even though the room was available, we were charged more than half the nightly rate. The rooms were dirty, with stained carpets and nuts under the beds, and the apartments lacked basic items. This certainly wasn’t a five-star hotel, and I’d give it 2.5 stars at most. The breakfast buffet was a disaster, apart from the fruit.

The rooms at 101 Park House are spacious, apartment-like, and offer comfort and privacy along with luxurious amenities. They’d work especially well for families or longer stays. We also enjoyed the gorgeous terrace, a calm spot to relax and take in the surroundings. Being next to a beautiful park made the location convenient and peaceful. From arrival on, the hospitality and service were impeccable. Thank you to General Manager José Luis Perini and the team for their dedication and attention to detail. The wellness treatments were fantastic and left us feeling refreshed. 101 Park House exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, elegance, and personal service. Olga M.
