Hotel Dorado Gold Bogota

The room was comfortable and the location was good. But for the first two days the shower was barely lukewarm, and for the next two there was no elevator. I had to go up and down three floors at 78 years old. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was smaller than a cupboard, and the blind was see-through enough that people could clearly see me, even while I was sleeping. Honestly, the hallway felt more private. There was a clunking elevator outside the room, and after seeing it, I couldn’t get a refund from the staff. The free water dispenser was empty, too. Horrible hotel. Never again.

The employees seemed to be doing their best, but the management was abysmal. When we arrived, they said they’d lost our reservation, even though they’d been emailing every other day to say they were looking forward to us coming. Then they tried to charge an extra $100.00 without making clear why. The listing also promised airport transportation, but they don’t actually provide it. The hotel isn’t close to the airport, yet it sits under the flight path. We heard every plane, dogs outside, car alarms, and people down the hall breathing heavily. The beds were uncomfortable, and my son thought he felt bugs in his. Seriously the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here.

The staff were very kind, and the price was reasonable. It’s a convenient spot near the airport for a short Bogota layover. We did think the rooms and laundry service needed to be cleaner. We had to ask twice to have our bedding changed because it didn’t seem properly washed.
