Mercure Bogotá Calle 100

The Wi-Fi in the room was so slow it felt unacceptable in 2025. I need a reliable connection for work, but this one was almost unusable and honestly made me want to leave right away. It’s a huge disappointment when a hotel can’t provide decent internet.

I enjoyed my stay apart from the WiFi, which was basically nonexistent. Whoever runs the hotel really needs to sort it out.

The room was spot on, from the bed and bathroom to the aircon, and the whole team came across as happy, from the people at the entrance to the women cleaning the rooms. Everyone was friendly and efficient. Nearby eateries were good, and the local BBC bar with draught beer was the last thing that made the stay feel complete. The TransMillenio station is a stone's throw away, so I could get to Bogota's sites much faster than by taxi. For me, this hotel is far better than the other Mercure hotels in Bogota, with quality I haven't found at any other hotel I've stayed at there. All things considered, the room was very good value.

The staff were really sweet and helpful. I even left my wallet in the dining area like a dingdong, and they returned it. The price was great for what you get, about 48$ US a night when I stayed. It felt pretty high class, though maybe a little dated, with comfy beds, a big breakfast buffet, and a bar. The location is especially handy if you’re having a medical procedure nearby, since there are lots of doctors and surgeons around. One thing to watch is the laundry service. It’s outsourced, and they fold everything nicely in plastic wrap, but the charge was around $250,000 pesos, about $50 dollars. Yikes. 😬
