The property itself is nice, but the way this billing issue was handled seriously damaged my trust in the Grand Hyatt Bogotá. After checkout, the hotel charged my card for taxes that my reservation confirmation said were included and prepaid. I had not authorized that extra charge beforehand, and I had to contact the hotel myself to request a receipt and an explanation. The hotel acknowledged during our conversation that the issue had not been properly explained at check-in. Even so, they continued to insist on the added charge, despite the written confirmation saying the room and taxes were included in the original payment. I was left to investigate and dispute it after the charge had already gone through. I also asked airport customs officials directly about hotel IVA practices in Colombia. They told me tourists, diplomats, and generally non-residents paying with foreign credit cards are typically exempt. In my case, the taxes seemed to have been prepaid through the reservation already, yet the hotel tried to bill them again separately. The emailed receipt didn’t clearly label the charge as IVA either, using a different description, which made the process feel unclear and questionable. It raises concerns about the hotel’s billing practices and where the extra charges are going. I reported the matter, and my financial institution ultimately blocked the charge. I understand hotels have to follow local regulations, but guests shouldn’t face post-stay charges that conflict with their booking documents. Clear communication matters, especially from a luxury hotel brand. I hope management improves how it handles billing and communicates with international guests.

We spent three days here for a relaxing holiday, and the spa, food, service, decor, and comfort were all stunning. The gym and pools were great too. It’s a beautiful hotel, and you really do get the luxury you pay for. We also saw that it seemed well suited to business travelers. 👌👌

The breakfast was a highlight, with lots of high-quality choices that worked for both adults and children. Our family found the stay very comfortable, and the spacious, modern rooms gave the kids room to move around easily. Being near the airport is convenient for a short visit, an early flight, or an arrival. Just keep in mind that Bogotá traffic can be heavy, so getting to other tourist areas may take quite a while depending on the time of day. The Grand Hyatt Bogotá offers families comfort, good service, and excellent amenities, especially when airport proximity matters.

The staff were so welcoming and helpful, always smiling and checking that I had what I needed. My room felt new and well maintained, with plenty of space, a lovely view, and a comfortable bed. The Grand Hyatt Bogotá is clean and modern, and it lives up to the Grand Hyatt standard. The gym and spa are top-notch, and the atmosphere feels luxurious but relaxed. It’s also a convenient, safe location near the airport, with the city easy to get around from there. I had a great stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bogotá.
