I booked through booking.com and the amount was charged to my credit card quickly, but getting a refund took about 2.5 months. First they said they had forgotten my case, then they said it had been processed but I still needed to wait a few days. It only happened quickly after I threatened to contact booking.com customer service. A very frustrating experience. I recommend paying there instead of by credit card.

The walls were paper thin, so you could hear everything everywhere all night. When I arrived, the room had only been superficially cleaned, with visible residue from previous guests on the furniture counters. The amenities were pretty worn, especially the towels, which were falling apart and a faded yellowish white. They may cut the water with little notice and offer no real compensation, just a gallon of water for the toilet. They may also charge you for things you didn’t take from the room. If you have no choice but to stay, take photos of everything before and after. This isn’t a “third world country thing”. You can find much more comfortable accommodation for a similar rate elsewhere.

The room was dirty, and the pillow sheets they gave me were stained. They then claimed I’d marked them with a pen and made me pay for damage I hadn’t caused so I could keep my Airbnb account. Paper-thin walls and a poorly built place too. They’ll charge you a fortune to stay in this paper house. Scammers. Stay as far away as possible.

The rooms and building are nice, and the amenities seemed decent by South American standards. The price also works well if you're visiting from North America. But the walls barely block sound. I could hear both neighbors talking and watching movies as though they were in the room with me, so getting rest was impossible. As I write this, my neighbor is playing Nirvana 😢. If they fix the noise problem, I could see this earning four or even five stars.
