The hotel is nice for what it costs, but a few things need attention. The top-floor lights stay on all night, making it impossible to sleep, and they should be sensor-activated. The toilet takes 8 minutes to refill after each flush. Also, the sheets they provide create static, so cloth sheets would be better.

It's a simple, affordable place with good service, and I found the city-center area safe. Cash or Nequi only. Seems ideal for a short trip or just somewhere to sleep.

I arrived to find there were no rooms, despite booking 20 days earlier and confirming the day before my trip. A really bad experience...

The staff were friendly and helpful, thanks to Gustavo, Ofelia, Irene, Erika and Mario. It's a pleasant little place that can operate as either a hostel or a hotel by prior arrangement.

The owner asked where I'd booked as soon as I arrived, then said there were no rooms, even though the website had shown availability and I'd paid part of the reservation in advance. The site charges very little, he said. He returned some of the money they charged me, but not all of it, and pointed me to a nearby hotel. Since I don't know the city, I went to look, but it didn't seem very good, despite having a good rate, so I chose not to stay. I asked local residents about Victoria Comfort Hotel, and they told me it's in one of the most dangerous areas of Bucaramanga. The gentleman did try to help by finding another hotel, but I'm still unhappy that he leaves the active website open, so visitors keep arriving expecting a place to stay when he says nobody can stay there.
