Finca Cuipo

Fiona and Helmut made us feel safe, comfortable, and so well looked after at Finca Cuipo. Before we arrived, Fiona arranged a trusted driver to meet us at the bus and suggested a restaurant where we could wait after getting in early. When my husband got a GI bug, she brought him medicine. After we left, they even checked that we had reached our next destination safely. Their activity recommendations were spot on, and the cooking really is as good as everyone says. I'd recommend Finca Cuipo to anyone wanting to explore the area and have a bit of an adventure. We took buses between places. Here, you just wave and the bus stops for you, which was very different from home but felt safe and easy. To get back up to the finca, you can ride on the back of a motorcycle or pay a little extra for a car if one is available. We tried the motorcycles one day to get out of our comfort zone, and I'm glad we did. Our room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. We liked swimming in the pool before dinner and relaxing in the hammock on our deck during the day. We also saw a frog, an iguana, lots of geckos, spiders, and several birds that were new to us. The cabin was immaculate and had everything we needed. Fiona and Helmut were thoughtful, clear in their guidance, and connected us with the right people to make the stay smooth and enriching. The views were breathtaking, with the sea on one side and mountains behind us. We could hear both the ocean and the jungle, which made it feel magical. The food was delicious, too. Finca Fuico felt like heaven on earth. From the moment we arrived, everything felt easy and grounding, and the relaxed atmosphere made it natural to truly rest. Comfort and care showed in all the details. A wholehearted recommendation.

The photos don't capture the peace and quiet at Finca Cuipo. Helmut, Fiona and Kelly were wonderful hosts, attentive and accommodating, and made us feel right at home. The cabins had everything we needed to connect with nature, right in the Sierra Nevada with a beautiful view of the Caribbean Ocean. The food was all delicious, and Helmut is an incredible chef. What stayed with me most was meeting this hardworking family and learning how much effort they've put into creating an eco-friendly, environmentally sustainable place. It was really inspiring. Outstanding!

We were here for three nights and loved it. The cabins are remote, very comfortable, super clean, and have stunning jungle and ocean views. Watching sunrise and sunset, relaxing, and taking an outdoor shower were pure pleasure. We saw lots of birds from our terrace, and at night the jungle serenades were lovely. Breakfast was freshly made and great. The home-cooked dinner was delicious, fresh, and made with love. Helmut and Fiona are amazing hosts who care about every detail. They're helpful with organizing trips and excursions, and it was a joy spending time with them and hearing about their journey, project, and the region. Kelly is wonderful support, and little Tobi is the cutest. Canela the dog and Akela the cat might catch your attention, but only if you want them to. They're very well behaved. We've travelled a lot, and this was one of the best places we've stayed.
