The vibe is really chilled, and the farm views are lovely. Greg is a great chef and cooked us lots of great meals. The owners are some of the loveliest people, and made the place so much fun for me and my friends. One of the best hostels I've stayed in in Colombia. I'd highly recommend it.

The family looking after the place can cook for you, though there's also a fully equipped kitchen with the basic things you might need. The cabins and rooms are spacious and very clean, and there's space to camp as well. It sits between Buritaca and Puerto Nuevo, with horse riding tours and the beach a 10-minute walk away. A good place to stay if you're after somewhere quiet, clean, and basic.

Maye and Gringo made us feel like family, and we loved hearing what they know about the animals, gardens, and mindful living. Hacienda Valencia is surrounded by the Santa Marta rainforest, with so much nature, calm, and positive energy. We spent two unforgettable weeks there and came away feeling connected to the land and to ourselves. A lovely choice if you’re after something authentic and different. Thanks for welcoming us into your world so warmly!

The beach is about 20 minutes away, and being there on your own was absolutely brilliant. The accommodation itself is basic but clean, and breakfast is very simple, without much care in how it’s prepared. You’re pretty much left to yourself during the stay. And yes, there are big insects, but you are in the jungle.
