Hotel Sultana Cali

I was in Cali for the marathon, and the location was perfect, 10/10. Staff gets 8/10, and the price 6/10. But the rooms are awful for getting rest, 4/10. The drywall walls are so thin you can hear your neighbor breathing. Overall, 6/10.

The service seemed very good, but one incident means we won't come back. Several of us staying there had makeup stains on our towels. Since we left very early and got back very late, I think they should have tried to work out a solution first. Instead, they waited until our last day to tell us we had to wash the towels or pay for them. They also brought it up at the front desk in front of everyone. In my view, the hotel should look for a solution first and report the issue if that doesn't work. We've never had anything like this happen before, at either an expensive or a cheap hotel. I found it really distasteful.

The staff were attentive and friendly, and the rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable. Still, I wouldn't give it five stars. They charge extra per person for air conditioning, which seems like taking advantage of Cali's climate instead of treating it as an added value. This extra charge isn't shown when booking, and it isn't the case at all Ayenda hotels.

I found it welcoming for a few days or a longer stay, and the staff were always attentive. The food was very good, especially breakfast, which had plenty of variety. I highly recommend the place.
