We had a lovely stay during our vacation in Carthage. Being on the top floor gave us a great view, and I liked the location. Walking to the walls in Cartagena takes a while, though, so I’d suggest taking a taxi, especially in the heat and strong sun.

I booked a studio apartment through Booking.com, and the communication was awful. They’d reply whenever they felt like it, and the person handling WhatsApp was incredibly rude. No one mentioned up front that there was a registration fee. Then they called to yell at and insult me, demanding my bank details to return my deposit. It was a terrible experience, and I had to file a complaint with the Ministry of Tourism. I don’t recommend them.

Hotel Nuevo Conquistador has excellent rooms, good prices, and a great view. I highly recommend it. One warning if you’re from Medellín: people here can be hostile toward us.
