Hotel Casa Centenario

Everything seemed fine until $200 disappeared from our room. They responded by trying to sell us a more expensive full house at a discount, then offered a room with a safe to protect us from them. We checked the camera, and it showed only staff entering our room. Don’t get robbed by these criminals. There’s a bedroom rule saying they aren’t responsible if things go missing. It’s posted for a reason. I had the money secured in my luggage and made a point of not taking it out. I explained that in person, and they know it, but they’re clearly ignoring it. Their response shows the level of accountability they take. Deny everything, the standard tactic of criminals. That should give you all the proof you need to make an informed decision. Thanks for your reply and for exposing yourself further to everyone.

The place was right in the heart of all the action for me, with something lively or a party every night. Breakfast was good, and lots of places were within walking distance. I loved it, would recommend it, and would definitely stay again.

The Getsemani neighborhood has a lively feel and plenty of nice restaurants, but I really disliked staying there. It sits beside the walled city, not inside it, and if I came back I'd choose a hotel within the walls, even if it cost more. This place has no elevator: narrow stairs start right at the entrance, with another flight up to the tiny rooms. Breakfast was just okay. I'd spend extra for one of the beautiful courtyard hotels in the walled city and wouldn't return here.

The location and breakfast were really good, but the stay had some frustrating problems. The Wi-Fi didn't work, there was no hot water for showers, and the towels were very old. When we arrived, the receptionist had the fútbol on loudly.
