Casa De La Cruz - Hostel

The place is quiet, so I slept well, and important spots are 10 minutes away or less on foot. It has the basics for a stay, including the AC you need in this city, but nothing special. The mattress was much too soft and felt like I was sinking, and the shower pressure was low, so bathing could take longer. There was no one at reception from 6 until 10 or 11 in the morning, and the place needs someone there earlier to help. EDIT: There were no wall hangers, which is a basic thing a room needs.

Good value and an excellent location, with a nice rooftop and a functional room. The AC was much needed during our stay. It was a positive experience, though nothing special. I’m giving it 3 stars because the shower could have been cleaner and the bed wasn’t comfortable.

The location in the old town was great, and the bunk bed room was okay, with working AC. The bathroom was cramped for showering, though usable. The receptionist played videos and music so loudly I could hear them from my room, even with the kitchen and sitting area in between, and kept playing them while we were speaking. The kitchen isn’t usable: the worktop has no light, so I needed a head torch to chop vegetables safely, and the receptionist just laughed. The portable electric hob barely heats up. Don’t plan on cooking here.

Humberto, the manager, was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is simple, but has what you need: it was clean, with good WiFi and AC, and a nice rooftop. It’s not fancy and could use fresh paint in a few places, but the location and price are great. Thank you!
