Maria-Fernanda was wonderful. She answered emails quickly and helped us throughout our stay, and the rooftop was a lovely place to cool off, with a small clean pool, chairs, and a view. You need to ask reception for pool towels before heading up. Our four-bed family room was roomy and unusually clean compared with many places we stayed in Colombia. It had warm water and air conditioning, though not much daylight. We were out most of the time, so that wasn’t a big issue. The old building has plenty of charm, along with a few limitations, but it felt comfortable and well kept. Breakfast was simple but fine. The location near the historic center, in Getsemani, was great. I’d definitely return to Cartagena.

The room had a safe, and the shower was hot. The AC was adequate, and the hotel was clean. Breakfast comes with the stay, though the serving is small. Getting to the airport by taxi can be arranged for about 30 mil pesos. The walls are thin, and sound from outside carries through the building. We were next to a room with very loud teenage boys, so if that happens, ask to move right away. Light sleepers should bring earplugs. The Wi-Fi signal also needs a lot of improvement.

The staff were friendly and happy to help with tours and amenities, and the rooms were very clean. There are three breakfast choices, all delicious. The pool is a little small, but it does the job. You’re right in the middle of things to see, in the heart of Getsemaní and just one block from the walled city. I’d stay here again.

We came over Christmas and New Year during peak tourist season, so noise from events nearby was part of the deal. Music carried into the rooms. It was bearable, but anyone who needs quiet might prefer a place just outside the historic district. The hotel is central, with a continental breakfast included, and the little rooftop pool was great for cooling off on Cartagena’s hot afternoons.

There was an electrical issue, and when I reported it, they didn’t seem to care. My phone charger even burned out. They also didn’t have the tools to check the voltage.
