The room was spacious and comfortable, and we felt very safe. It's about a 10-minute walk to the historic centre and 15 minutes to a large grocery centre. The one real frustration was the stove, which heated so slowly that boiling water took 10 minutes.

The suite at Cartagena Suites de Manga was spacious, modern, very clean, and nicely air conditioned. It had a large comfortable bed, HD flat-screen TV, and a kitchenette with cookware, tableware, fridge, electric stove, microwave, coffee machine, and a cute bistro table set. The tiled bathroom was separate from the living area, with a double sink vanity, large rain shower, and WC. We also got lots of extras at no charge, including ultra-fast WiFi, an extra fan, an iron board set, beach towels, and more. We spent 14 memorable days there, and felt safe and valued throughout. The neighborhood was safe and convenient, a short walk from the lively Getsemani area and just minutes from a 24-hour supermarket, bank, pharmacy, and several restaurants. The 24/7 staff were excellent, polite, friendly, and welcoming. Angelica, the manager, speaks fluent English and went out of her way to find a top-notch restaurant and make a reservation so we could celebrate my husband's birthday. It made for a beautiful evening and an unforgettable memory. Naomi was also so kind and efficient, always smiling as she helped with every request, from lending us the house's dominoes for our stay to ordering pizza and looking after our laundry. My husband and I are truly grateful to the whole team for making our stay wonderful. We highly recommend Cartagena Suites to anyone wanting a secure, high-standard place to stay in Cartagena, Colombia.

The hosts made everything easy, from check-in and a thorough rundown to tea or coffee on arrival. They were friendly and helpful throughout. The studio apartments are beautiful, in a lovely area, and it's an easy walk across the bridge to centro. I'd definitely come back. Martin

My reservation was changed without warning because of a conflict between the Airbnb host and hotel management. I only found out when I arrived to check in. Angelica, the manager, said my booking dates had changed and my stay was now three days shorter. She handled the news in a rude, unprofessional, and unempathetic way, and even threatened me. After going back and forth with the host, Airbnb customer service, and the hotel, I had to make another reservation and move to a different hotel. It cost me money, but worse, resolving it took so much time and energy that I couldn't enjoy my vacation as much. The hotel offered no help or empathy. They were extremely rude, and I felt unwelcome and vulnerable in a foreign country. Separate from all that, I found the place not very clean or pleasant.
