Decameron Cartagena All Inclusive

Check-in took two hours, and the AC didn't work in either room they put us in. Most employees had bad attitudes, and dealing with the hotel was a hassle. The WiFi worked only now and then, while the food and drinks were barely passable and ran out before the meal service was halfway over. They have club nights until 2am every night, and you can hear them from all the rooms when you're trying to sleep. Maybe the worst hotel in the city. Don't waste your money unless constant frustration sounds like a good time.

This is about the beach outside, not the hotel. The area where I stayed had Decameron umbrellas, and the people working there were great. Orlando speaks several languages, and another woman served me drinks. The prices were fair, with no extra charges. Thank you.

The location is great, and the service staff were kind and really helpful. But the management of the front desk is a mess. They didn't have enough staff for incoming guests, so even basic check-in involved long waits. Booking dinner was a 7am race with little luck. I wouldn't recommend the all-inclusive package to most people.

The buffet and seafood restaurant were the only good parts for me. Getting our keys took about an hour, and everything seemed to be managed on paper. Then we finally reached a room that was barely habitable. In a place this hot, you'd expect working AC, but despite being set to 16 Celsius it only blew warm air. The small fridge leaked, and room service didn't bring extra toilet paper or towels. There were no pamphlets, notices, or useful information anywhere, so you had to ask around about everything. To get food, you need to schedule at the restaurants on a webpage, but nothing tells you that. There's also an unassuming snack bar with lots of lazy employees lying around. The location is great, but for 3 starts I expected better. You see plenty of employees, yet no one seems in charge. It felt like staying at a hotel from before the internet was widely available, a time capsule from 20 years ago. I honestly don't know how it runs in such poor condition. Really disappointing, and I wouldn't go back in a thousand years. The owners should be ashamed. As we were leaving at checkout, they asked us for a paper we were supposed to receive then. The woman at the counter had forgotten to give it to us.
