Palmetto

We were on the 31st floor, and the view was incredible, one of the best parts of the trip. Frequent rainstorms made pool time difficult, and the pool host was somewhat strict or unclear about access during the storms. Still, it was a memorable stay with unbeatable scenery.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a large balcony and a beautiful view. The facilities were very nice too, even if this isn't the Ritz. The beach is right across the street, and restaurants, a supermarket, and a COVID test center were all easy to reach on foot. The test center needed no appointment, and results came in less than two hours. Everything else was quite nice and worth the money. At checkout, though, the staff had an attitude and kept our 100k deposit, saying the room was in disrepair. I assure you nothing was broken. We stayed for five days, and the room did need cleaning, but there was only the usual beach-room mess, sand on the floor and unmade beds. Maybe they expected us to leave it exactly as we found it. That was disappointing.

The suite was nice for what it cost, and our Airbnb host was great. The location, pool, and view were all good. What brought this down from a five to a four was the building staff and some policies. Staff members were unfriendly and didn't seem to like children. The gym was only open at certain hours, which seemed unreasonable with visitors on different schedules. I never saw anyone use it while I was there. Also, 13 year old teenagers couldn't use the pool without a parent present.

The building was clean and the location was very good. We booked two apartments: one was nice and clean, but the other was old, dirty, and falling apart. The woman who gave us the keys was kind and helpful, and cleaned it better for us, but that apartment wasn't fit to be used as a vacation rental. The pool staff were rude too. I was told not to put sunblock on my kids, which was the first time I'd heard that as a rule. For the price, there are better places to stay, and I wouldn't come back.
