Escapada de ensueño 2BR en Ocean Drive

We rented an apartment in Ocean Drive. Since the building is fairly new, people often use the Club de suboficiales de la Marina across the street as a landmark when giving directions. Each apartment has its own manager, so amenities and the owner's help can vary. Ours was nice and clean, with a kitchen, laundry room, and two bedrooms. The front desk security seemed nice, and they helped us get taxis when we needed them. The intercom was broken, apparently by the previous guest, but the apartment owner did their best to sort out all the issues we found. The pools and jacuzzi have a really nice view of the surroundings.

It’s overpriced, and they charge tourists IVA / Tax on top, something no other hotel does. The location is bad too, too far to walk even to a shop. There are much better apartments and hotels elsewhere.

The neighborhood has a few useful spots two or three blocks away, including supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries, and casual places to eat. For getting around, use Uber. Taxis will rip you off. The beach itself isn't great: the water isn't clear, it's not clean, and the vendors are pushy and annoying. It's okay for a low-key morning or midday, but don't engage with street vendors if you want to avoid a bad experience. If you touch what they offer, expect to buy it or argue to get them to leave. The airport runway is literally next to the building. Watching planes take off is cool the first day, then the noise will make you want to die. The apartment we rented was bright, modern, spotless, comfortable, and very quiet as long as the windows stayed closed. The building's pool, sauna, and jacuzzi are superb, a real gem, though it's a shame they close at 6 PM when the weather is perfect for a nighttime dip. The gym is very basic but does the job. All the building staff are friendly.

I stayed in apartment 414 and would happily return. The pool and its view are incredible, and everything was excellent. Highly recommended.
