Four Seasons Hotel & Residences Cartagena

The two rooftop pools were a highlight. It's a beautiful property, and the staff were exceptional.

Getting around from the restaurant was inconvenient since it's outside the city walls, and the icy conditions made that more frustrating. The place was nearly empty, yet the service was shockingly inattentive and unprofessional. It was a business dinner, and we left extremely disappointed. The restaurant seems to lean on its connection to the Four Seasons, because the experience itself didn't meet that standard. After this, we have no interest in considering the hotel for a future stay.

I know it's only the first month or so, but this was a huge disappointment across the board. Room service took a long time, staff forgot our room requests, and then there was an unbelievable 10% service charge added to the final bill. We've stayed at four other Four Seasons properties this year, and this one didn't come close.

What made the stay at Four Seasons Cartagena feel so warm was the people. Every staff member we met was kind, attentive, welcoming and happy to help, with hospitality that felt consistent and genuine. We also noticed how kind people were throughout Cartagena, and the Four Seasons team reflected that beautifully. The location made exploring easy, with Old Town, Getsemaní, the docks, restaurants and even the airport nearby. Though central, the hotel still felt tucked away in a beautiful luxury retreat. The property itself was breathtaking. I kept stopping to admire the architecture, design, restoration, atmosphere and care in every corner. It felt like an experience in itself, unlike anything I'd seen before.
