Hotel Boutique High Park

We cut our stay short after one night. The owner was unfriendly and arrogant when we raised the problems, which made everything worse. The WiFi barely worked at all. I usually don't like leaving negative reviews, but I feel other travelers should know, and I absolutely wouldn't recommend staying here, especially because of safety concerns. The neighborhood felt very unsafe to me, even during the day, and walking around without a taxi didn't feel like an option. It had a very unpleasant atmosphere. Our taxi driver was uncomfortable waiting until we got inside, drove away right away, and said the area was very unsafe. The owner also said the area wasn't safe and advised us not to walk around with our belongings. The rooms were poorly kept, with peeling paint and stains everywhere. Our bed was small and very hard. The air conditioning was hard to regulate, either too cold or too warm, and the shower's single knob made it difficult to control the temperature, so we barely got warm water. Honestly, I don't understand the hotel's high rating. It was the worst place we stayed in Colombia.

Theresa and her husband were kind and accommodating, and made sure I had what I needed. The housekeeper did a lovely job keeping the room tidy and welcoming, always with a pretty smile. High Park Hotel has a cozy, intimate feel, and it's in a convenient spot in Cartagena. The small boutique hotel was charming, well-kept, and exceptionally clean, so I had a comfortable, pleasant stay. Some people may find the immediate area less polished, but I found the locals friendly during the day. At night I preferred taking Ubers for convenience and comfort. I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, welcoming, friendly place to stay.

I ended my stay early. The owner's attitude was disrespectful and unprofessional, so I absolutely can't recommend this place.

Teresa was a wonderful host, caring and very friendly. The rooms were clean and neat, with no issues, and the hosts made sure we were safe. It's very close to the beach and city center.
