Hotel Voilá Getsemaní

The design is attractive and the staff are friendly, but we don’t understand the 4.7-star Google rating. Our room was a king, not even the lowest category, yet there was only about 40cm around the bed, barely enough room for two large suitcases. Ground-floor rooms have terrible sound insulation, so we could hear everything in the lobby and out on the street. Breakfast was alright, but when we arrived at 9, an hour before it officially ended, the buffet was practically empty. We understand not wanting to waste food, but this wasn’t the way to handle it. We also got two WhatsApp messages about tours and activities. We would have rather been told about the construction site in front of the hotel and that Uber can’t park right outside the entrance. At USD 140/night in Colombia, we think they need to do better.

The hotel looks great and the staff are lovely, but don’t stay here if you need sleep. The noise is so loud it feels like you’re in a club, and the windows might as well not be there.

Getsemani felt like a great, safe area, with street art, cafes, restaurants, and centro historico just a five-minute walk away. The hotel itself was so beautiful, from the pool and interior to the room, and everyone working there was lovely. Diomalis, Angie, and Gudi ❤️❤️❤️ made the stay extra special. Thanks for making it such a relaxing, wonderful experience!

The lounge is AMAZING, and both the service and breakfast were great. A couple of things could be better: standard-room beds are too small, and the windows are partly open in a way that lets outside noise come through even though nobody can see in. Since getsemani is noisy until 3/4 am every night, I wouldn’t recommend a low-floor room if you’re a light sleeper.
