We’re already planning to come back, which says a lot. The hotel is beautiful, and our room was clean and spacious, with great air conditioning. Paco and Lewis were around whenever we had questions, and the included breakfast had lots of really good food. They even sent a car to collect us at the airport, which was a big help since we’d never been to Cortina. The location puts you right in the middle of Getsemani, which we found the coolest part of Cartagena. The old town is a short walk away, and the sights and attractions are all within walking distance. We had a great experience. Stay here if you go to Cartagena, you’ll love it.

Our room was small, but cozy and comfortable, with a private patio, hot tub and an indoor-outdoor shower that I loved. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every day. Luis and paco gave us good local tips and picked us up at the airport. The service and location were good, and I loved the BnB. Will recitó everyone, and I’ll go back.

The private roof terrace had a jacuzzi, and there was also a super cute turtle. Great hotel, with such friendly, helpful staff and great service.

The cooks were the highlight. They were really friendly and even checked on us when we missed breakfast once. Breakfast itself was good, and the location is right in the middle of Getsemani. There was a free airport taxi after our stay, but with a caveat. The room was dirty, and they never cleaned the floor. Sheets and toilet paper weren’t replenished unless we asked. We had to request everything, even things that should have been obvious. People would suddenly start working there and disappear again, and they had access to our room key. One time the door was opened without anyone knocking while we were inside. We stayed in the Up in the Sky Suite for all 9 days, and the AC was useless. The mini split faced the wrong way, and they turned it off whenever we left, so we returned to a sauna and sweated the whole time. The bathroom and shower were outdoors, which meant we got hot while showering, as expected, but we were below the surrounding roofline, so people could see us. We had to shower at night. When we needed a morning shower, I held a towel over the window to cover my wife. Construction next door made noise at all hours, and some workers were at eye level with the shower. I caught a few staring into the bathroom while we were in there. The small shared hot tub was beside the suite, and guests used it late at night and made a lot of noise. When the city’s water pressure dropped for a few hours, nobody told us. One evening the water stopped while I was covered in soap. There wasn’t really a front desk. Breakfast was the only time we could find a worker to raise concerns. They push tours like everyone else in Cartagena. One tour we booked wasn’t great, but it worked out. Later, because they seemed honest at first, we booked another for 600.000 pesos, about $150. They mentioned extra options, which we declined. Then I got a message saying we owed another 250.000 for food and an “optional” guide. That trip cost more than visiting the islands, where drinks are FREE. I wanted to discuss it in person and got pressured by the owner to reconsider because it would be lovely. I didn’t buy it and demanded my money back. They had no receipt, but returned the money. Things could have gotten ugly. The airport ride was another mess. They quoted 80.000 pesos, or $20 USD, though uber black was half that, and I agreed for the certainty. Their driver couldn’t take us, so the tour seller offered to drive for the same price. At 4:00 AM, when we were waiting outside and already should have left, he came out in PJs and said another driver was coming. It was a taxi that costs about $3 to the airport. I was about to make a scene over the $20 USD fare, but seeing my distress, he said he’d pay for it. We’re never going back. Thanks for nothing Markus and Paco! PS: Look at Tripadvisor for the disrepectful and unprofessional response he sent!

The little tortoises running around were a lovely surprise, and the breakfast was terrific. Our rooms were cozy and comfortable, and Paco and Luis treated us so well. They were around all the time to answer questions and help, and had all kinds of useful information. The place is right in the heart of everything, perfect for a few days in Cartagena. We loved it and would stay here again.
