Breakfast service was fantastic, and the meals were delicious. Definitely try the huevos criollos. The staff were attentive and remembered our preferences, making our meals to suit us every morning. Jairo is a great waiter. Javier, I think that was his name, was friendly and greeted us warmly whenever we came in. We enjoyed the tasty welcome drink too. The street was quieter but still within walking distance of everything. The pool is small but very nice, with excellent views. Our room felt safe and was well appointed. My only complaints were that the floor sometimes got wet, perhaps from condensation, and there was a crack in the bathroom door. I’d stay here again.

Breakfast was a highlight, especially the flaky, buttery croissants. There was a refined French touch, plus plenty of fresh, healthy choices, and I liked being able to have breakfast brought to the room. The rooftop is on another level, with what I’d call the best view in Cartagena. Watching the sunset there is unforgettable. From arrival, Movich Hotel Cartagena de Indias felt beyond five-star. The room was elegant, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful details and a warm, luxurious atmosphere. Diego, the manager, was professional and attentive, and his service lifted the whole experience. If you want comfort, luxury, great food, and memorable views in Cartagena, this is the place. I can’t wait to come back. ✨

The rooftop pool was tiny, with room for only a few people to sit around it, and the fitness center was a joke. Most of the old equipment didn’t work. The rug and furniture in the best room, as it was marketed, were worn and stained. It was disgusting. I’ve visited Cartagena more than a dozen times over the past 25 years and usually like where I stay, so I was shocked this hotel is sold as a luxury property. It’s a dump.
