Múcura Hotel & Spa

I booked a week after seeing the photos, but the hotel was old, dated, and damp, and I found it awful. The room had no windows, the AC was old and noisy, the beds were uncomfortable, and everything felt depressing. I didn’t want to stay even five minutes and was ready to do anything to leave. I cancelled, but was charged a two-day penalty. I seriously doubt the positive comments are genuine.

I only needed a room for a few hours before my flight, and chose this place because the reviews looked decent. Now I’m pretty sure they’re not real. The front desk woman was the one good part, helpful and professional. My room, supposedly the hotel’s second best, was tiny and basic, with a bathroom almost as big as the room for some strange reason. The hand towel had a stain and a hole, the shower towels looked like they’d been washed hundreds of times, and the AC barely worked. Go somewhere else.

Breakfast with Carmen was delicious and the service was great. The location near the airport is a plus. The rooms were fine, with a few details on the furniture, and the beds were comfortable.

We found this beautiful hotel with a spa in a quiet area just outside Cartagena’s center. It includes a free jacuzzi and breakfast, king beds, and secure parking for about three cars. The staff were wonderful, especially senor Fred, who made sure our stay was lovely and kept the coffee well made and free all day :-)
