The Icon Capsule Hostel

The staff are what made this a five-star stay. They were friendly and down to earth. I asked for somewhere quiet and requested the third floor, but the receptionist warned me there were sometimes cooking classes in the kitchen up there. He put me in corner room 6 on the second floor instead, and I was glad he did. There were no windows or balconies in any of the rooms, and the island was sweltering, but the high slanted ceiling, quiet AC, and fan made the room comfortable. When I wanted a beach day, the receptionist laid out options, their pros and cons, estimated costs, and what to watch out for. I had a great day and didn’t feel ripped off. On departure morning I was downstairs around 6:30 to arrange a car for my early flight. The kitchen staff saw me and brought fresh coffee and breakfast, even though they didn’t officially open until 7. Thanks to everyone for making the stay so nice. I booked a private room with an en-suite bathroom and fresh breakfast included for a quick two-night visit. The room and bathroom were perfectly adequate, and the bath towels were surprisingly luxurious. The neighborhood felt very safe, with a corner grocery, restaurants, and the old town all easy to reach on foot. There’s a small kitchen serving breakfast and freshly made local snacks midday, plus a little rooftop area with loungers and hot tubs. There’s also a small restaurant on site with a limited menu, but its prices are separate from the room rate and included breakfast.
