It’s a beautiful place to recharge, with lovely property and views of the valley and surrounding mountains. This charming, welcoming bed and breakfast, or hostel, is just outside Choachí and makes a great base for enjoying the countryside. The owner’s service and hospitality were wonderful. Choachí is about a 10-minute drive away for lunch, dinner, or shopping.

We only wish we could have stayed longer in this peaceful place. We visited a nearby lake and the thermal baths, though there was plenty more to see. Martha’s beautiful posada had basic but comfortable rooms, a lovely breakfast on the terrace, and delicious home-cooked dinners. Our kids quickly befriended Atal, the friendly cat, and had fun picking oranges and making their own juice with Martha’s encouragement. She also arranged for someone to come to the posada to give us a massage and braid our daughter’s hair, such a nice treat.

Choachi is a beautiful little town, about a 30-minute walk from Martha’s Finca. The area is gorgeous, and I can’t wait to return for the fresh air and wonderful hospitality. We had a great time with Martha, the owner. She’s the best host, and her food is amazing.

Choachi is a lovely little town, about 30 minutes away on foot or reachable by tuktuk. At Martha’s Finca we enjoyed peaceful silence, beautiful views, delicious meals, great hikes, and inspiring conversations with Martha and her two adorable cats. It was a wonderful stay, everything you could wish for!
