Las Palmeras

Food was AMAZING, with great prices, around 30000-35000COP. The staff, location and facilities were lovely. Rooms were clean but basic, which is made clear when you book, so it shouldn't come as a surprise. High recommend.

We were stranded on the island after the tour company we'd booked to take us to Rosario Island left us there. The team at EcoHotel Las Palmeras called multiple companies to help us get back to Cartagena, but none could do it. Then they arranged for a friend to take us to the mainland by private boat. We're so grateful to them, especially Daniel, who was incredibly helpful and kind. We might not have made it off the island in time for our flight without the staff's help. The hotel was super clean and quiet, with comfortable beds, good showers, and a surprisingly cheap, good restaurant on-site. We liked unwinding there so much that we didn't eat anywhere else. It's very affordable and was our favorite place on the island. Thank you, Daniel and the Las Palmeras team. We'd highly recommend it and wouldn't stay anywhere else if we came back! 😍

Breakfast was fresh fruit and eggs with arepas, and it was included. There’s also an on-site bar, restaurant and shop where you can pick up snacks. We stayed here while on Isla Grande and really enjoyed it. The room was great, with mosquito nets over the beds, and the service was lovely. Would recommend.

To get off the island, coordinate with the hotel. They'll call the ferry service for you and take you to the dock, even though we'd already booked our round trip. Mosquitoes are everywhere on the island, especially where there isn't a direct sea breeze, but the beds all have nets. Definitely bring repellent. This is a good value if you want an eco hotel. It's a straight three-minute walk from the pier where you're dropped off. Once you know your way around, it's a five- or optional ten-minute walk to the two nicest beach resorts on the eastern side of the island, and my friend and I spent most of our time at one of them. The people at palmeras are accommodating, if a little closed off. I enjoyed my stay and can recommend it.
