Casa de Balcones

We spent time at La Jagua learning about witches, and the views from Mirador El Balcón del Huila were amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful, with the charm of a hacienda and modern conveniences. Its spot right on the town square, close to the market, was great, and the service was impeccable. I’d love to return again and again. Highly recommend!

The staff were friendly, welcoming, and full of helpful tips about places to see nearby. We enjoyed the breakfast, especially the Colombian fruit, and hated to leave. We’re already planning another visit. There are plenty of shops and restaurants close by, and the staff can point you toward local spots worth seeing, including La Jagua, the Giants Hand, and the Magdalena River. This is a 200 year old home just off the town square, now converted into a hotel. It has a lovely mix of old world character and modern conveniences. Our room was spacious, with little balconies off both the main room and bathroom. The bathroom had double sinks, a separate shower, and a jacuzzi tub. There are also several comfortable seating areas just outside the rooms, which made it easy to gather with family and travel companions. The hike to the Giants Hand is worth doing for the views, which felt like paradise. The park staff said it would take 15-20 minutes, but it took us 1.5 hours. Every step was still worth it. The place is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and safe, and the location is excellent.

The location is fantastic, and the service was outstanding. Such an amazing place. Highly recommend it!
