We weren’t staying at this hotel, but were robbed right across the street last Saturday, March 11th, at 10:30 PM. My husband was stabbed and his cell phone was stolen. Please be very careful in the area, especially around people on bicycles. They often ride in pairs about a block apart, with one watching out for the other. There are criminals acting as lookouts and warning accomplices about possible victims. The community and hotel industry do nothing. I believe you know who these thugs are but are afraid to report them. Nobody helped us. When we asked the hotel owner for the security camera footage, he said we had to pay for it. If you go there, be careful. Muggers target tourists, so don’t carry cell phones, purses, or backpacks. And as a final warning, don’t leave your hotel after 8 PM. Tourists aren’t warned about the dangers in the area.
