Hotel Senderos del Mar - Hostel

Birds were everywhere, and I even spotted a whistling heron while sitting down for supper one afternoon. Senderos Del Mar has a setup that draws wildlife in, so you can enjoy nature from a hammock. A few resident bats also help keep the mosquitoes in check. With a pool, A/C, and at least three fantastic chefs making amazing food, you might not want to leave. If you do head out, Mendihuaca is a stunning nearby beach with lifeguards on duty. I heard waves like that are rare in Colombia, but the surf was good. I rented a twin fin and had a blast on the short period wind swell, and body-surfing was even more fun. Playa Linda is about a 25 minute walk from Senderos, with great chances to watch birds and track animals. When the clouds clear, you might even see the snow-covered Sierra Nevada mountain range rising above the palms and jungle. Romantic, relaxing, fun, and family friendly. I can’t wait to go back!

Alexandra is a wonderful chef and so helpful, and Alex and the rest of the staff couldn’t have been kinder. They gave us great suggestions for places to go and things to see. The atmosphere was lovely and the food delicious. We had a fabulous three nights and would highly recommend it. I’d definitely return, though I’m sad we only stayed three nights.

After visiting Tayrona National Park, we had a lovely stay here, lounging by the pool and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. The location is idyllic, and the hotel is incredible. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive and took care of everything we needed. The food was fresh and incredible, and the cocktails were delicious. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful stay.

Mary works miracles in the kitchen, and Alex at reception was fantastic with guests. Alex went above and beyond for me and my group. We’ll definitely come back!
