40 Amigos Hotel

We left soon after checking in. The room was run-down and dirty, nothing like the photos, and the hotel was much farther from the town square than advertised, in an isolated spot. We went out for food, realized how far away we were, came back for our bags, and left. When I complained, the staff gave us excuses and what I felt were lies. Since then, they've posted on Google that we left “without reason.” That's false, and it feels like an attempt to cover up what happened. Their rating has dropped over the past year, and the positive reviews seem to be from a couple of years ago. Read the recent negative reviews and look at the timeline; I think they show a pattern of things getting worse and misleading guests. We're disputing the charge with our credit card company. Foreign travelers should be especially cautious, since they may be counting on you not to push back. Avoid this place.

We ended up with a balcony room that gave us the privacy we wanted, and it was perfect. The room we originally booked was nice, but didn't feel private enough. The women there were really accommodating and found us another option. Thank you!

The room was small for the price, with poor soundproofing and no proper windows. Sometimes the water was cold, too. I was there with my parents, and the lady made them wait half an hour for breakfast even though they were first. She served a large group ahead of them. She also charged us 10 dólares extra for my cat. I can understand a pet fee, but she hadn't mentioned it during our stay and only brought it up as we were about to leave. The way she handled it felt very rude. I wouldn't recommend 40 amigos unless you don't mind paying a lot for a place that isn't worth it.

The traditional Colombian breakfast was delicious, and the town square is just a five-minute walk away. This is a sweet little hotel in Jardin, kept clean and in good shape. The front desk staff helped us arrange activities throughout our stay. Muchísimas gracias, we'll definitely come back.
