The location and the views are gorgeous, and this could be a five-star hotel. But it feels old and dated, and it’s obvious the place hasn’t been renovated in a long time. The bathroom mirror had black stains, the shower door let water run onto the bathroom floor, and the room felt muggy with no fan. Around the pool, the furniture was old and poorly maintained. The loungers were awful, and the faded tables and chairs looked cheap. The jacuzzi water was cloudy, and the whole hotel needs repainting. Compared with other area hotels featuring beautiful local architecture, this one doesn’t measure up. I’ll post some pictures.

The hotel has a lovely view, and the staff provided nice service. As someone from Colombia, I thought it was a pretty decent place with room to improve. Flies in the dining area and a limited breakfast selection could be addressed, and fans in all the rooms would help on hot days. The bar could also use a refresh and a more appealing look. The biggest drawback was the long, rocky road to the entrance. Paving it would make getting there a much better experience.

I spent a week here in 2013, on my first trip to Colombia, and it remains one of my best hotel stays. The staff were welcoming and looked after me attentively, even after hours. The food was great and fairly priced, and the Wi-Fi worked decently whenever I needed internet. The views of the Andes are hard to put into words, and the infinity pool was beautiful. You have to see the scenery for yourself. The hotel and its staff made me feel very welcome, and the price was unbeatable.

It’s fine for sleeping and getting some rest away from the city, but there’s nothing special about it. The place is isolated, the access road is in poor shape, and the pool feels too small for the number of visitors. It could be better.

The staff, owners, food, and views were all incredible. It felt like a heavenly place. If the rating went up to 10 stars, that still wouldn’t be enough.
