Calle Flora Hotel by Jalo

I’d never been to Colombia before, and staying at Calle Flora hotel by Jalo in El Poblado, Medellin was an amazing experience. The hotel was fairly new, around two months old, and the staff were friendly and extremely welcoming. It’s right across from Parque Jeras, with great views and lots of lovely people around. Shops, bars, and restaurants are within walking distance, and it’s the place to be for nightlife. The rooms are cleaned, and the colorful hallway walls add a nice touch. Try the drinks at the bar downstairs, and ask Farid, the bartender, about the speciality drinks off the menu. He explains what goes into them and gives lots of suggestions. I canceled another hotel for the second part of my trip so I could return to Calle Flora. 100% recommended.

The rooftop pool was my favorite part, and the location made it easy to get to all the nearby restaurants and bars. Juan Jose at the front is so friendly and helpful, and the staff speaks English. Beautiful hotel.

We spent a week here and found plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops nearby. The lobby has a really eclectic, artistic look, and the staff were always helpful. Even though we arrived around 1:30am, the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful.

The neighborhood is nice, but it was hard to get proper sleep here. Street parties nearby went on from around 1-2am until 4am, and the rooms don't block the noise. That was horrible for me as a light sleeper. The sink also wouldn't drain, so water collected in it. Staff said this is a common issue. Nice hotel, but not worth it if you need quiet to sleep.
