BEDBUGS BEDBUGS BEDBUGS That aside, the location was good, the Wi-Fi decent, and nights weren't too noisy. We were in room 11 on the second floor. But the bed was awful: two single beds pushed together, uncomfortable mattresses, and such lumpy pillows they felt like potato sacks. We spotted bedbugs on the second night. The front desk employee barely seemed surprised or concerned when they inspected the room, almost as if it happened every week. We packed and left right away. They did seem to understand why we wanted a refund for the night we were leaving, since we'd already stayed past checkout. We got two-thirds of the money owed.

The location is good, and the cleaning lady is very friendly, but the hygiene is poor. Breakfast was very basic, and the employees don't speak any English. We found bedbugs in our room. Instead of refunding us for the trouble, the very rude owner blamed us and said we'd brought them from salento!!! That couldn't be right, since the complaints started after our first night at friends to be. Other people also complained about bedbugs during their stays.

The bedbugs were the start of a terrible experience. On my second night, I woke up itching and saw many crawling around the bed. My girlfriend was covered in red spots. We got another room for the next night, but its sheets already had old blood stains. It suggested others had faced the same problem and the hostel had poor hygiene, so we left. We had to spend a lot of time and money washing all our backpacks and belongings at a laundry. We emailed the owner about the experience and hassle, asking for at least a refund for the two nights that caused the problem. The reply was rude and blamed our hygiene, basically claiming we brought the bugs to the hostel, although we'd never had trouble before. When we pointed out that Google had more bedbug reviews for the hostel, the response was rude and even more accusatory. This was the worst hostel experience I've had in three months in South America. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

BEDBUGS!!!! CHINCHA DE CAMA!!!! BETTWANZEN!!! BEDBUGS!!!! We found these bugs on the bed, which points to a serious bedbug problem. The hostel is full of them, and the staff didn't care. Nobody spoke English. Things were being stolen, and staff acted like they didn't understand what had happened. We told reception, and they did literally nothing. We checked out right away. They booked new people into the rooms without treating the bugs with chemicals. It's crazy. Don't stay here, don't even think about it. The price isn't worth a suitcase full of bugs or a body covered in bites. I attached a photo of the bites and the bugs. Stay away!
