Hotel California City

All my suitcases and sneakers were stolen while I was staying there. I've tried reaching out for weeks and haven't had a response. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone in America. The front desk workers are scammers, and I'll be contacting my lawyers about further action.

The staff were extremely kind, and they even put in a small safe when I asked. The room and furnishings were new and pleasant. But sleeping was difficult: my ground-floor room was along a long corridor beside the lift, with no sound insulation. People came back at night and chatted while waiting for the lift until 2 am; cleaners started at 5 am, and I could hear music from the night shift at reception. The utility room was at the end of the hall. The bed had a fitted sheet and a blanket, with no other sheets, and there was no room service. The streets were dirty and the neighborhood wasn't nice, though it was close to the town center.

The women working there were friendly, the service was fantastic, and they cleaned the rooms well. But I had problems with the two men who work there. One young guy came into my room when I wasn't there and stole money. At the end of my stay, a man at the front desk, and he knows who he is, claimed I hadn't paid my fees for certain days, even though I had. I gave the money to one of the girls at reception, and she knows it. I'd tipped everyone, and they were friendly until this man said I owed for those days and took more money. No place would let you stay without paying, so the claim made no sense. He's a thief. The location is questionable, but the men working here are the real thieves. Both male front desk workers are bigger thieves than you'll find in the area. It's not a good place to have thieves with keys to your room. Beware of the front desk guys. I checked the reviews and noticed that 90% of the five-star reviews came from people who had reviewed fewer than three times. That seems like a good indicator their friends are writing them. I'm glad enough people are seeing my review to avoid this place. The owner still hasn't responded, because he knows it's true. I'm still making sure people know this place is a rip-off.

There was noise all night, with what seemed like a party in every room. The restaurant upstairs was loud too. Worst hotel I've ever been to. If you want to rest, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
