Hotel Zelva Negra

I booked months ahead for peak season, and the hotel confirmed in writing that I would pay at check-in. They never asked me to pay beforehand, but then cancelled all my reservations just days before the stay, saying there had been no prepayment. There was no warning or explanation, and they took no responsibility. A very unprofessional experience. I can't recommend this property.

Mariana and Osnayder were wonderful hosts. They took care of every need we brought to them. Thanks for making our stay so memorable and easygoing. The place is great and in a really strategic spot.

The staff were genuinely nice and helpful, and the location felt both close and far away. Breakfast was pleasant, but hit or miss. The furniture and the area outside the room weren't great. The shower looked fancy, but wasn't practical at all and was hard to clean. You can hear bar music from the next street, too. My general advice for low key countries: if you see words like fancy, luxury, or boutique in the name, run. In Colombia, the packaging can beat what's inside. Three out of five.

It was nice, but so loud all night that I couldn't sleep. I only just found out about the rooftop terrace, which seems like the sort of thing the receptionist should point out.
