The apartments had everything we needed to feel at home, and the rooftop hot tub and sunbathing area were a nice bonus. I booked two separate places through Airbnb and liked them both just as much. I fell for the Astorga neighborhood and would happily stay there again.

Third time in Medellin, and I’ll be back here again. I love this place.

The construction right outside made the view from my duplex room pretty awful, and I couldn’t leave the blinds open because workers could see straight in all day. That meant keeping the room dark. The listing called it a “Stunning Duplex w/ a great view,” which felt very misleading. The building itself also looks old and rundown, and the AC barely cooled anything, nowhere near enough for the whole place. I expected noise in poblado, but loud music is one thing and construction all day is another. After staying in Medellin many times, this was my least favorite place, and I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

We picked this spacious place because we both work online, but the daytime drilling made that impossible. The construction site across the street drills from 7 am to 6 pm, so we had to leave every day and work from cafes. Then we got back and still couldn’t rest: music was noisy until 1 am on weekdays and 4 am on weekends. The apartment also lacked basics like salt, sugar, and oil, things you’d normally expect in a decent Airbnb. It was a bad investment for us.
