Tribe Medellín

The exterior looks nice, but inside this overpriced place was a dump. I’m not even sure whether to call it a hotel or motel. The rooms were small and smelled, and nothing in them worked. I called for help and was told maintenance would be sent, but nobody showed up during the next 2+ days. When I brought it up at checkout, they just apologized and said there was nothing they could do, even though they run the business. Melissa and Hector at the front desk were no help either, just repeating that they were sorry and couldn’t do anything. It was a horrible experience with awful customer service. There are much better places to stay in MDE. I’d give this garbage 0 stars if I could.

The street noise was the biggest problem for me. Sound came through the windows at night, with people partying outside, and it affected my sleep. During heavy rain in September 2025, the power also cut out briefly; when it came back, the TV switched on by itself and woke me. The hotel should address that. Still, I enjoyed the stay. Tribe Hotel is right in Provenza (El Poblado), close to lots of restaurants and bars, and the modern, minimalist room had a comfortable bed. I liked the L’Occitane shampoo, soap, and body lotion. Breakfast was included in my rate, which was nice, though I wish they’d refilled the coffee each day instead of leaving it only on arrival.

The staff were super friendly, but the rooftop restaurant made it hard to sleep well. The room internet kept disconnecting, so I couldn’t join meetings or even watch TV. I had to take my meetings in the lobby. I wouldn’t recommend it for a work trip.

Amazing location, clean room, and friendly staff, but the room WiFi basically didn’t exist. I had to step into the hallway outside my room to get online on my phone or laptop. There’s no desk in the room either, so this isn’t a workable place if you’re here to work.
