Tucurinca Hotel & Spa

The views are lovely, the weather was perfect, and it’s only 3 minutes from “el parque del café”. The caretakers and crew at Tucurinca really did their best to make us feel at home, and our stay a couple weeks ago was superb. We could hear everything happening around the rooms, including vehicles entering and leaving very early in the morning. The mattresses also let the place down. Still, it was very nice.

The hotel was above our expectations, especially the outdoor jacuzzi and pool after a whole day walking around the sites. We knew a Quindío trip is about the park and sights in a rural area, so the rustic “Finca Hotel” facilities were what we expected, and they were clean and comfortable. The staff made us feel at home. Christian and Andres were gracious hosts, always available, and Diego made sure our breakfast was ready so we could head out quickly on our tours. It was my first trip to the “Eje Cafetero” since settling in Colombia, and this place was part of what made the trip wonderful. We were leaving at 530am the day after the Colombian January holiday and would have missed breakfast. They kindly prepared sandwiches for our whole family to take along.

The hotel sits on a hill with amazing views of the town below, in a beautiful part of Colombia. I loved staying here and only wish I'd had more time.

I used to stay here every time I visited Colombia, but this time the welcome felt much less friendly. The pool now opens at 10 am and closes at 10 pm, whereas before there was no problem using the pool or Jacuzzi at any time. Breakfast service was unfriendly and bad. I guess becoming a big business can mean losing the family feel and friendliness that used to bring me here. I won't be back.
